The Official Full CD is available.

Free DOS is a GPL drop in replacement for MS-DOS. It runs well under dosemu and on its own dos partition. It includes many extras, including a gui, email, pegasus mail (not gpl), lynx, ssh, emacs etc.
Or you can limit the install to traditional DOS.

Do you want to set up that old XT to handle email? Can be done.
XTs are not recommended for browsing, I have tried it.
