FreeBSD (Berkeley Software Distribution) is a
unix-like operating system. Its history stretches back to the original
AT&T Unix via court cases and the Berkeley Campus.
FreeBSD as such was first released in 1993, two years after the release
of the first Linux kernel. FreeBSD has kept its own individual character
and unlike Open Solaris this distribution presents as being very different
to Linux.
FreeBSD is highly regarded as a server os and is
valued for its high level of security.
Many people will find this operating system a pleasant change.
