A number of the applications that are found on a GNU/Linux system have been ported to Microsoft Windows (tm). This DVD is a collection of such software.
The obvious advantage is that of price, but there are other advantages that while not so obvious are even more important. Some of these.
Open standards. This means that data can be transfered to other applications.
Upgrades. These will continue even when the original authors and sponsors retire.
Replacement. When a particular application is superseded its successor will ensure that data can be transfered easily.
